Second and Third day of the Back-Hoe Dig
Here are the best of the best found for the past two days.
We had great participation with lots of smaller points found.
Lots of Marshall's and Perds. Check out the Edwards Point (so rare for this site).
Jeff C. of San Antonio found the see thru Marshall with a side section missing (ancient break).
One day to go for the back-hoe. Well check with us later.

Update for 20 Sep 2007
First day of our very first Back-Hoe Dig
Well things went pretty smooth. We had three screens available and one group
brought their own.A great turn out for the first day and some really nice
finds were made. All of the soil we sifted came from the field where we
were hand diggin'. We still have alot of ground to cover and need more
sifter-diggers. Still have a few slots for Sunday.

Col Jim found this oustanding Marshall, and Mike W. of San Antonio
found this exceptional Kerrville Knife.

These fine points were found Tony L. of San Antonio.

Billy J. of Bandera found these incedible artifacts.
How long do you think that knife would have been?
Well these are the best artifacts for our first day.
Check on us again tomorrow. Thanks

Update for 17 Sep 2007
Since last update we received another flood, and now we are well dried out.
Our back-hoe dig will begin this Thursday and I will post pictures there after.
Right now our diggin'activity is taking place in front of our barn.
Yesterday and today produced some nice smaller points-
A group from Spring Branch, and Jeff C. of San Antonio found these nice pieces.

The massive areas in front of the Barn will be very productive however the occupation material
in some cases is only 12" to 16"- signifying very compressed layers repesenting many 1000's of years.
There is lots of ground for hand diggin' but the heat is almost unbearble without shade.
Cant wait for the Back-Hoe dig !!!

Update for 30 Aug 2007
Well Col. Jim does it again. He found this little but killer Langtry
right in front of the Barn. and Ernie R. of Canyon Lake found a real
nice Marshall out in the Field area.
It is so hot out here and with the humidity that you can cut it with a knife-
the best advice is to start diggin at daybreak till about 1pm and
then start up again about 630pm.

This the end of the Update

Update for 26 Aug 2007
Well after having been flooded for the second time, we have finally dried out real good.
The diggers are starting to trickle back in and the area in front of the barn/house will continue to produce some real
nice artifacts. I really feel that the areas in front of the Barn and my House will be very productive.
There is lots of territory to dig, so if your considering coming out dont hestitate. These areas
are realitively shallow (12-18") but are compact with burned rock, flint, snail and everything else.
Diggin out in the field area has dwindled so I have changed my dig prices for that area
to $100 per square. The creeks are flowing big time so bring your swimming gear. We have
a real nice waterfall and swimming hole second to none.

Yesterday Jeff C & family. of San Antonio found this large Frio and the base to a Paddle Drill
in one of our squares in front of the Barn.

Day before yesterday Roy D. and family of Bellville, Tx found this awesome Angoustra
and this very fine Marshall in a square right in front of the barn in one of our $200 squares.

Hey folks, here is a good hint when diggin out here- always go to the bottom.
This beautiful Paleo scraper came from the very bottom of the square.
That person just didnt dig deep enough and left this behind..

The Snively Brothers of Gatesville brought out their collection.
All of these artifacts came from "Randys Dig" except for a few of the smaller points..
The top right Perd was restored by Dennis Bushey of Alabama
(it had a tip replace)..

These are most of the pics from the Trenches since the beginning of Aug.
There is lots of Trench-squares available- and now for $100 each !!!

This the end of this update..

Update of Aug 13 2007
While the finds in the new trenches have been awesome the ones in front of the Barn
have been spectacular. I decided to start selling some of my $300 Barn spots again
And for the Garnsey Family of Dallas it sure paid off. This Barn area has long been
reserved by me for my personal use, but I had to give into the pressure
by my loyal diggers- they just had to have piece of the crem-de-la-crem pie.

All of these artifacts in two squares in front of the Barn !!!

Check out this G10 Perd (from the Barn) found by Jeff C. of San Antonio.
Jeff looks pretty rough after diggin thru the heat of the day, but he was all
fired up again after finding this beauty

This G10 Killer Perd was found by TJ Jennings in the new Trenches.

Update for 23 July 2007

I told Michelle and Hal they would be diggin in the mud, but that didnt stop them one bit.
Michelle found a nice little perfect Perd. She will post pictures on her web site too.
But the real prize was found by Cynthia F. of Cleveland, Tx. A 6" Marshall Base Tang Blade.
Both halves were within 18" of each other (she found both pieces)..
And just before all that rain the other day Don R. of Austin found a nice Marshall too.

Anyone into snorkeling for artifacts?
This was Saturday morning 21 July 2007..

Update for 16 July 2007
Sorry for the delay but I've had a bunch of things going on at the same time.
Well I really got worried Friday afternoon- my tractor would not start-
next morning I figured out I had kicked a lever that disengaged the
starting system. Hell, I just tbought the thing- it better not break down-
I've got lots of dirt to move !!
Because you guys are diggin' this place up so fast!!!
The Jennings Brothers have really done great here. They found a killer
base tang and a 6" Covington blade and several points in the same square.
Another cache I'd say !!
Also a very interesting "etched"stone was found- made of some kind of
iron stone-was very heavy for its small size.
We had diggers from all over Texas and two from Louisana..
Here are the pictures. This coming weekend will be busy-
alot of people are already scheduled- Weekdays are better for those who dont like crowds.
